Otis the Cow is a dairy cow who lives on the Barnyard, and is the main protagonist of the show and movie. Otis also has numerous alias, alter-ego, and secret idenities. In the episode School of Otis it is revealed that Otis can't spell his own name.

Otis is a fun loving cow who also seems to have a level of genius because he has created night clubs, cameras, even knows how to work guitars, cell phones, and microphones. Otis also is glad to face his fears to save his friends. Otis often acts selfish and self centered when it comes to money and fame, but also has a sweet side and truly has a bovine heart of gold.

Otis lost his mother when he was a calf. He also was picked on by a bully named Kauser Krebs. Otis then grew up and made friends with the other animals of the Barnyard. Otis then lost his adopted father when coyotes killed him. Otis then blamed himself for his father's death. Otis and the other animals of the Barnyard defeated the coyotes and Otis became a father to Daisy's calves.
